Fig Me Baby One More Time

'Ello, 'ello.

So, of course, I have news. For your convenience, I will present it in bullet form, and chronological order.

1. I saw Othello, last weekend, and it was SUPERGIANTAWESOMEIAGOPANTS, or some similar hyperbole. Erika was there, but we only talked briefly because I had to run. If you haven't seen it, go see it, because it's great, and has more subtle Shakespearean sex metaphors than any play I've ever seen.

2. Outside of seeing Erika, I talked with Charlie (boy) last week, and gave him psychiatric advice - for all of you who remember our "sessions," I think I'm going to make a career of it at some point...or not.

3. I got Zan's wonderful music video, which I must assume you all know about. If you don't, then ignore it completely. It is highly traumatic - especially the one clip of me dancing, half-naked, with a toga and underwear on my neck...in slow motion. Yeah, I didn't want to see that again either.

4. Tonight, I'm going to see the Touring Troupe's Semi-Critically Acclaimed production of Julius Caesar, for free. I expect to see every Northern Virginia YCTC'er there. Actually, I don't, but it would be kind of cool, since this is the last ASC Production Northern VA will see, or has seen, for years.

5. I'm writing a play. Yes, a play. And, it's in iambic pentameter. If anyone wants to know more, well, do something about it, why dontcha?

Peace, love, and warm muffins. I'm outty, yo.

I NEED TO FEEL THE LOVE!!!!!

So in drama class we've been doing a "unit" on reader's theatre and today our teach handed out the "to be or not to be" speech from Hamlet. K, so I am literally the only Shakespeare fan in my entire advanced class! Outta like 20 kids! I mean, no one was even like "he's okay." No, it was all groans and i-hate-shakespeare. Even my boyfriend! (THAT was shocking! I dunno what to do about that...) Anywho, I was able to explain like all this Shakespeare stuff thanks to Menzer Menzer and my teach was all thrilled. YAY SHAKESPEARE GEEK!

I miss you all! YCTC is my life, 4 serious.

Luv you muchly,
*Anna P

Sigh....Mem-or-ees!

Title is a vague Ren and Stimpy quote...ANYWHO

I MISS YOU GUYS!!!! Everything in my life reminds me of YCTC and all of you. Seriously, like all my conversations begin with "At Shakespeare camp this summer..." and off I go. OOOOOO, and guess what? (Doreen will be SO proud...) You guys 'member that greeting the sun yoga-ish thing we did at warm-ups? Well I taught it to the 1-act cast, all 8 other members, and now we do it at the beginning of each rehearsal. It's way cool. My friend Lyle is like "do the sun thing Anna! I LOVE that!" So yeah. And Merry Wives-ers, I wanna teach them the Human Knot thing we always did, but it seems so...wrong? sinful?... to do it with non-YCTCers. Besides, how can I do the human knot when I won't be shoved into Kenin's armpit? It so wouldn't be the same. :)

If you guys are in the Staunton Harrisonburg area, come see me or I will come to you! Miss you all muchly!
Love, Anna P

My Bloggie Blog

I'd just like the share my blog url:
http://liveitoffthewall.blogspot.com

I'm livin' it up in NYC. The big storm passed over last night, and today is sunny and super. I've been here a week, and I've already met some child stars and heiresses at a wild party I went to the other night during the VMAs. Two nights ago, I was hypnotized for the first time by a famous guy who was on Letterman and Leno and stuff. Apparently I thought he was Johnny Depp. Last night I went to a crappy club downtown to see some longform improv. Eh. Spent too much money getting there. I've got an amazing 29th story view of Midtown, looking west. I've got a cold, and classes start Tuesday. I'm nervous. excited. nervous. excited. I just can't tell. It's so hard to try and share the love that I have for Blackfriars and you all with the people here... I don't think that they can grasp the idea of ASC or Blackfriars or why it's in Staunton, Virginia, and not New York. But that's ok.... no big fancy movie studio or contemporary stage will ever compare to the wonder and mystery of Blackfriars.

I'd just like to share that it's 4 AM on a saturday night, and I was just with my two best friends showing them all the stuff we learned in the acrobatics master class. We were doing dinner tables, candlesticks, butt bongos, all that. We are just THAT cool. Hope y'all are doing well...
