You Theatre People...

Okay, so theatre peeps have highs and lows (DUH!) but I guess everyone is at a low together because who wants to be emo all alone, right? Well, that's gotta stop cuz I selfishly miss you dweebs and want to quote Shakespeare and no one here gets it. SO, get yo' butts on here and post some stuff, alright?

Cuz if you don't, I'll be left with no choice but to get on all the time and post random boring drivel like this. Ugh. I'm dreading it myself. So save me from the toil and drudgery, please?

YAY theatre!

So tonight was Theatre Night at my school and I did a few things, v fun. My mom cracked me up-she brought a rose! Anyways, I got inducted into ITS tonight! WOOT! I just had to share that with theatre kids who would understand...I'm still flying off that high one gets after a show, lol.

I'm comin' to see Frances in Carol on the 16th. Any locals who wanna go or meet up afterwards for coffee or somethin', let me know! I'd love ta see ALL of you!

the best HAMLET ever!

So saturday was the regional 1-act competition (we kinda got screwed by the judges, but oh well, we did a good show!) and anyways, one of the other plays was Hamlet cut down to 30 minutes. I am in love with these people! This Hamlet included a puppet show, sports announcers, a rubber chicken, and, naturally, a dude in a wig being a girl. Incredible!

In other news, school is beginning musical preperation. Whew! It's gonna be crazay! I'm in the chorus and will end up doing tech stuff, too. We're doing Cinderella. It's interesting...I don't like it much-no mice. :)


How's life, guys? I've been swamped with school work, my job at McDonald's, school, McDonalds, laundry, sleep, McDonalds, college apps, McDonalds...lol! :) It's all good!

Just For Ross

So I too noticed that posts have been sloooooow lately. Due to popular demand (aka ROSS!) I'm creating a post. Heads up: it'll be boring. :)

So we're watching Taming of the Shrew in drama class. We're about to start a SHAKESPEARE UNIT!!!! (cue fanfare trumpets and streamers) and my teacher wants me to sorta teach one day where I talk about all the awesome Menzer-Menzer info i learned at the loverly YCTC session 2. YAY! Oh, and a new girl in class is a huge Shakespeare fan and I'm gonna take her to Blackfriars (eventually), so that makes an whole whopping TWO Shakespeare fans in school. Woot!

In other news...The first 1-act competition is Saturday (AHHH!) and today was our first dress rehearsal. FYI: leotards suck. Especially when they're brown. And I have to wear it on stage.

Also, some V exciting news (not really, but I try and make it): I now have a job! Hoo-ray! But here's the best/worst part: it's at the local....

MCDONALD'S!!!!!


Yes, people, I slave away over greasy fries and I make shakes and screw up ice-crema cones. But I'm getting better at that. I started Tuesday, so tonight was my 2nd day. Yeah, it's fast food, but it's money. and the employees are HILARIOUS! 'Cuase usually stupidity is funny. Haha, naw they're great.



So this is a short version of my life. I have not dyed my hair like Rin. Sorry.

Fig Me Baby One More Time

'Ello, 'ello.

So, of course, I have news. For your convenience, I will present it in bullet form, and chronological order.

1. I saw Othello, last weekend, and it was SUPERGIANTAWESOMEIAGOPANTS, or some similar hyperbole. Erika was there, but we only talked briefly because I had to run. If you haven't seen it, go see it, because it's great, and has more subtle Shakespearean sex metaphors than any play I've ever seen.

2. Outside of seeing Erika, I talked with Charlie (boy) last week, and gave him psychiatric advice - for all of you who remember our "sessions," I think I'm going to make a career of it at some point...or not.

3. I got Zan's wonderful music video, which I must assume you all know about. If you don't, then ignore it completely. It is highly traumatic - especially the one clip of me dancing, half-naked, with a toga and underwear on my neck...in slow motion. Yeah, I didn't want to see that again either.

4. Tonight, I'm going to see the Touring Troupe's Semi-Critically Acclaimed production of Julius Caesar, for free. I expect to see every Northern Virginia YCTC'er there. Actually, I don't, but it would be kind of cool, since this is the last ASC Production Northern VA will see, or has seen, for years.

5. I'm writing a play. Yes, a play. And, it's in iambic pentameter. If anyone wants to know more, well, do something about it, why dontcha?

I NEED TO FEEL THE LOVE!!!!!

So in drama class we've been doing a "unit" on reader's theatre and today our teach handed out the "to be or not to be" speech from Hamlet. K, so I am literally the only Shakespeare fan in my entire advanced class! Outta like 20 kids! I mean, no one was even like "he's okay." No, it was all groans and i-hate-shakespeare. Even my boyfriend! (THAT was shocking! I dunno what to do about that...) Anywho, I was able to explain like all this Shakespeare stuff thanks to Menzer Menzer and my teach was all thrilled. YAY SHAKESPEARE GEEK!

I miss you all! YCTC is my life, 4 serious.

Well HELLO

Hey guys whats up? I went to see Othello yesterday. It was great. Loved it. JAKE HART CAN SING !!! WOOWEE. So how are things going for everyone? I'm proposing Caesar for the spring at JMU. And i'm drowning under work..but you know. Doing ok otherwise. I'm going to start working in the office of the ASC doing YCTC stuff. So i'm PSYCHED!!
